Spectrum Gamma Ray Tool is an instrument logging the natural gamma radiation. It measures the entire gamma ray spectrum from 0 to 3000 keV, records the total amount of gamma rays and provides quantitative measurements of the Potassium, Thorium and Uranium contents of the formation.
Overview
Application
- Used in all mud systems and dry boreholes
- Identifies Potassium, Thorium and Uranium contents
- Identifies deposition of radioactive salts behind the casing
- Calculation of shale content
- Facies and depositional environment analysis
